about

From mash-ups to mashed potatoes.

This blog is a mash up of my great passions… food, sociology and product management.

I started my career working in kitchens …and then (as you do), moved into product management for social media.

I’ve now spent more time working with social media/IT than I did working in kitchens, but to this day I can honestly say, my project management, analytical skills and work ethic were fine tuned not in the office, but in commercial kitchens. As such, this blog explores  the start-up experience from a product management perspective, through a foodie filter.

So, if you love new technology, social media and food, then you’ll probably find something here for you. If that doesn’t sound like something you’d enjoy,  then you’d best be on your way.

Need more?

Bon appetite!

Michelle Rowan

Tip: Stay sharp… Always wash your chef’s knife immediately after cutting tomatoes. The acidity can stain or corrode the blade.

    • 16 Design Tools for Prototyping and Wireframing [Design Practice] 2010/01/22
      In recent years the number of tools available to help you document and design your web site has just exploded. It seems that we all need a wireframing or prototyping tool at our fingertips (at least in the design arena). So in order to save you the hard work required to find one, I've assembled this list. It can be expanded upon, so if you use an unlisted application, please let me know and I’ll add it to the list.

      The tools tend to fall into two categories:

      * purpose-built applications
      * multifunctional applications
